I've made a discovery about myself- I can cook. I've learned how to make a meal from scratch and not given myself food poisoning yet (touch wood)!
I've also discovered that I need to up my game with my artwork more than I thought and introduce myself to all of these new and confusing ways of thinking. I have so much to learn and so little time but I'm learning fast!
So, I travelled a lot this week although to places I've already been before; places I've missed very much. Even the air is cleaner in these places! I went to the Lakes International Comic Art Festival in Kendal where I met tens upon tens of publishers, artists, writers and retailers. Seeing so many people making careers or seconds jobs out of doing when they and I love was completely inspiring and motivating. My boyfriend and I (also co-creator and writer of our new comic) brought our sample prints of '3 Parts Mad' and introduced them to the creative industry.
After the first day attending Scott McClouds talk on the magic of comics we returned early on the second day to meet him and talk to the creative minds in the Clocktower.
To celebrate our successes of the day we went to Wetherspoons where I got treated to a tasty meal and wine. We then napped on the way back to Preston to travel on to Blackpool for a friends birthday! (Work hard, play hard)

I've also learned that you can't burn the wick at both ends as my mum would say, and get away with it. So that was the past week, the week before that was packed with work as we put the finishing touches on the 3 Parts Mad Issue 1 sample. I also began a new project for uni. Now that freshers is over it's a little easier to concentrate on actually doing work. Not going to lie, it's tough and confusing at times but I'm hoping I'll be able to get back into the creative flow again. I spent a few pounds on two new sketchbooks today which I'm going to carry with me and use for ideas whenever they come to me. Hopefully soon I'll have a nice stockpile of ideas to pick at when I'm feeling uninspired! All of these things are just one more step to where I want to be and who I want to be as a person and an artist.
Have you discovered anything new about yourself lately? Is there anywhere you'd like to travel to (old or new)? Let me know!
